The New Zealand Casings Company is owned and run by Luke & Tracy Kavanagh. Luke is seriously passionate about the age-old craft of making natural casings and is also a fanatical sausage maker – so he knows his sausage stuff. Luke and Tracy set out to make the best sausage casings in the world and to rid the world of mass produced, inferior sausages and casings. We would love for you to help us fulfil their mission.
If a sausage smiles, you know it’s a good one. That’s because it’s made with a natural casing. We’re passionate about creating natural New Zealand sheep casings to help our customers make the best sausages they can.
Our casings come from one of the purest places on the planet – from New Zealand farms where the animals are grass fed and we can trace our product from farm gate to plate. We make our casings following traditional techniques to produce consistently high-quality products that are second to none.
The result is sausages of unrivalled quality. They have mouth appeal, bite and snap, they won’t split when cooking, and have instant access to flavour and texture. Our casings allow the contents of sausages to shine. But most importantly, they create sausages with a curve. That’s the sign of a great sausage, and that’s what makes us happy.
We can proudly trace our product from farm gate to grill. We make our casings following traditional techniques to produce consistently high-quality products that are second to none.
We’ve established supply partnerships with New Zealand processors for supply of free range, grass fed natural sheep green runners. The dedicated team at our Whakatu factory in Hawke’s Bay cut, clean, calibrate, select and pack our natural sausage casings. We have export approval for all main markets across the world. And we have the ability to process any natural sheep casing specification and calibration your business needs, in any volume or pack format that suits you.
We are driven by passion and commitment, and stand by these promises:
